About Lincoln Central Station

This station was designed by J.H. Taylor, an architect practicing in London. It was completed in 1848 two years after the Midland Railway station at St Marks nearby. It contrasts with the latter with its Tudor flavour, castellated tower, mullion windows, tall chimney stacks, and even an oriel window. It is now the only station in central Lincoln, as St Marks was closed in 1985 and is now part of a shopping complex.

By road: Off A57/A15 in the centre of Lincoln.
