The National Transport Trust is organising a programme of Zoom presentations throughout the winter, and asking some of our recent award winners to share the story of their project.
We will choose three award winners for each evening, and each winner will give an illustrated talk for about 20 minutes, followed by an opportunity for questions at the end.
The first Zoom evening is 20th November 2024 at 7pm, when the programme will be:
1. The Jetstream project is run by Sywell Aviation Museum in Northamptonshire. This aircraft is a rare 1969 Jetstream, a small turbo-prop powered airliner. The team have rescued the aircraft and are completing this challenging restoration as a static exhibit which will be used as a classroom and display space for young people and visitors.
2. Waterwitch is a 1946 Clinker-built Sailing/Rowing gig, the only one of her kind afloat. The boat is being restored to provide training and experience on the water to Sea Rangers.
3. Stephen Middleton is no stranger to the NTT and has received several awards for his work on locomotive and rolling stock restorations. This project is the high-quality restoration of the 1877 Great Eastern Railway Prince of Wales Saloon.
