The Trust offers financial assistance to individuals or groups to carry through restoration or improvement projects to completion. The Trust also invites enquiries about sponsoring one or more Awards.
Charles and Robin Daniel
are very active West Country steam owners restorers and enthusiasts. They have been volunteers on the Talyllyn Railway since 1950s, tunnellers on Festinniog Railway & Steam Rally organisers. They have been office holders in the West of England Steam Engine Society, and of the National Traction Engine Trust. they were part of the team that drove a Traction Engine from John o'Groats to Lands End in 2007
John Megoran
is full time master and manager of the sole surviving UK coal-fired paddle steamer "Kingswear Castle" since spring of 1985. John marketed, managed and operated the ship very successfully for 28 years.
Steve Hague
is Chairman of the British Aviation Preservation Council. Finder and recoverer and restorer of historic aircraft both fixed and rotary wing. Civilian Instructor with the Air Training Corps (now the Air Cadets) for over 30 years. Founder of Yorkshire Helicopter Preservation Group.
The National Transport Trust makes loans to groups, associations and individuals at advantageous rates for the restoration of artefacts - whether mobile or part of the infrastructure. Applications must be supported by a simple business plan which demonstrates the financial viability of the project. A sample business plan is available on request from the Treasurer.
The Trust does occasionaly make Awards for schemes which further the preservation movement. Again if you wish further information please contact the Treasurer.
