About Beverley Station

G.T. Andrews built this station in 1846 for the York & North Midland Railway and gained junction status nineteen years later when the North Eastern Railway opened its line to Market Weighton and York. .

It has a single storey brick station building with deep windows, fine cornices, and stone quoins.

It is unusual in Britain in having an overall iron and glass roof which replaced an earlier one in 1908. It also has an original and distinctive North Eastern Railway iron covered footbridge.

By road: Off A164 in the centre of Beverley.
