On 12th May our latest Red Wheel will be unveiled in Orkney at 11am. The National Transport Trust lead will be John Cameron CBE.
The unveiling will be at the Barrier View Café where the Barriers exhibition is now going to include a piece of railway line, all 10ft of it and several fish plates. Our host for the event will be Celina Rupp
Constructed 1940-44 - connecting communities today, the four barriers were originally built to defend the vital naval base in Scapa Flow. Our Red Wheel recognises these significant constructions.
