Bus and Coach Collection, Meriden - Visit - Wed 29th May

By kind invitation of Roger Burdett, Transport Trust members are invited to visit his private collection of buses and coaches at his premises in Corley, near Meriden. Located near the geographic centre of England, Roger has a collection of 30 coaches and buses. 17 are roadworthy and owned by him and frequently used, the remainder are in various stages of restoration. Roger has kindly offered to “Throw the doors open” to TT members to wander around the collection at will, with a fact sheet on the collection which includes rare examples such as a Foden 2 stroke, a Commer 2 stroke, Albions, AECs, Bristols and Leylands to name but a few.

Following the viewing, Roger will take members on two trips to town and country, one trip on a coach and the other on a bus. The visit is timed for a 1pm start with tea/coffee, and finish at about 4pm, at which time members can either depart or meet at the local pub for high tea and further discussion.

More detailed joining instructions will be supplied to attendees nearer to the date. There is no fixed charge for this visit but a voluntary donation of £15 for continual restoration is suggested for each attendee.
