Red Wheel unveiling Abbotts Coachworks, Sun 15th September

A Transport Trust Red Wheel will be unveiled on the site of the former Abbotts Coachworks in Wrecclesham, Surrey on Sunday 15th September at 14.00.

Abbotts Coachworks, and its predecessor Page and Hunt, built high quality bespoke bodies on this site on a wide range of cars from 1920 to 1972.

The plaque will be unveiled by Edward Dixon Abbott’s two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth, and the Mayor of Farnham, Councillor Mrs Pat Evans, will be in attendance.  Former Abbotts employees are also expected to attend and there will be a display of Abbott-bodied cars. Refreshments will be provided.  Parking will be available on the site and nearby.

The site is currently occupied by a Co-op store, and the Red Wheel will be mounted on its front wall.  Co-op local and regional management has been very supportive.

The post code is GU10 4PLand the site is on A325 south-west of Farnham, approximately a quarter of a mile from the junction with A31 .  For those travelling southwest on A325 the site is immediately after the railway bridge, on the left.

Please advise the Trust office if you plan to attend.
